Our contributions to Society
One of the major pillars of the Peers group is charity. We believe that helping your fellow human especially those in need should be second nature. That is why all our social events are also charity events. Since the start of peers many attendees, companies, businesses and individuals have donated and made a positive change in the lives of others.
Where the Donations Go
Peers January event at Wyndham fully paid the maintenance bill (worth SRD1045) for Betheljada transporation bus. Huize Bethelaja (founded in 1979 by Annie Bischop) is a non profit organisation that provides care for those with physical disabilities. If you would like more info please visit ww.betheljada.org
Peers February event at Hotel Krasnapolsky helped raise enough funds to donate a Refrigerator (worth SRD 2850 ) to Shelter Lotjes huis. Shelter Lotjes huis is a non-profit organisatie whose goal is to take in under-fed and abandoned children - often times after hospital treatment - and provide reliable and professional care at the center. Peers March event at the Borgoe Rumhuis helped Donate a set of Desks and chairs ( Worth SRD 1800) for the ICT Unit of Nationale Stichting Blindenzorg Suriname. The Nationale Stichting Blindenzorg Suriname is an institution that offers support for the development of people with visual impairments. the NSBS provides assistance and support to enable them to develop into independent citizens in the Surinamese society.
